Was it Gianni Morbidelli that iWitness saw leaving the F1 paddock this evening on a scooter, clutching a trophy? Nope, it was Rubens Barrichello in disguise! The Brazilian has a vast helmet collection and in an effort not to be recognised by fans, he has used the Italian ex-F1 driver’s helmet on his scooter all weekend.

Talking of scooters, AT&T Williams Account Manager Nick Hayes didn’t cover himself in glory this morning. His scooter wouldn’t start when he came to leave his apartment in Cap d’Ail, so he telephoned England to get some technical advice and then got Assistant Team Manager Paul Singlehurst to take a look at the bike who diagnosed a flat battery. Doh!

There will be a spare seat on the Easyjet flight from Nice to Luton this evening after Ross Brawn has been forced to reschedule his travel plans following Jenson Button’s victory in the Monaco Grand Prix. While debriefing his engineers after his team’s impressive one-two finish, Ross was told that he’d been asked to have dinner with Prince Albert! Not an invite you can refuse…

Giancarlo Fisichella’s ninth place in today’s Monaco GP was Force India’s best result of the season. But Team Principal Vijay Mallya wasn’t present to see it: he flew to South Africa on Friday to watch his Indian Premier League team, the Bangalore Royal Challengers, perform in the competition’s semi-finals. When they progressed to the final, he elected to stay in South Africa and not return to Monaco.
