It was great to score points for the second successive Grand Prix, particularly as Formula One is so competitive this year. My race was actually compromised on Saturday afternoon when I was baulked by Rubens [Barrichello] on my quickest run in Q3. The end result was that I started the race further back than my fuel load deserved and sixth place was a pretty good finishing position.

We ran a very long middle stint to ensure that I wouldn’t have to spend too long on the option tyre which had suffered from rear graining throughout the weekend. It performed better than we expected, probably due to the amount of rubber that had been laid down, but it would have made no difference if we’d done more laps on it. It’s notoriously difficult to overtake at Monaco, so it would have been very hard for me to find a way pass Mark Webber.

You always get out of the car in Monaco feeling very exhilarated because it’s an amazing place to race an F1 car, even if it’s near-impossible to overtake. It feels so fast and you need to concentrate 100 percent of the time to avoid hitting the wall. I’ll chill out for a bit this evening, before heading out to the Amber Lounge after dinner to dance the night away. I know Jenson Button’s going to be there to celebrate his victory so there will be a great atmosphere!

See you all in Istanbul in a couple of weeks.
