Nico's Monaco Blog: Saturday
Posted on Sunday 24 May 2009 and tagged with Rosberg, Blog.
I’m a bit frustrated after today’s qualifying session. The car felt really good on light fuel and I was able to set the fastest time of Q1, which was encouraging, but when we put fuel in for Q3 the balance went away and the lap time wasn’t there. As a result, I’m starting tomorrow’s race from sixth place. At least the even numbers on the grid are on the cleaner, outside, line, so that should help me make a good start when the red lights go out. However, the run to the first corner is very short and the track is very narrow, so there won’t be much time or space for me to make progress. I think a solid points finish is a realistic goal.
Away from the racetrack, the weather continues to be lovely and Monaco looks magical as the sun reflects off the harbour. It’s certainly a great place for the race!
