Kazuki's Barcelona Blog: Saturday

I was disappointed to miss out on a place in Q3 today. The car felt really good throughout qualifying and I was very close to Nico in Q1. I’ve looked at the telemetry since the session and think that I might have lost a bit of time through the last chicane on my fastest lap of Q2: that was the difference between going through and qualifying 11th.
Still, I think I can get a good result tomorrow because I have a free fuel load for the start. It’s quite difficult to overtake around here, but the moveable front flap should help matters and I’ll be very aggressive. My objective is to finish in the points, like I did last year.
The biggest question mark for the race is the weather. The forecast for tomorrow is changeable and there’s a real chance of rain. Even if it’s not wet, the temperatures will be much cooler than today and that could have a detrimental effect on tyre temperatures and tyre wear. As ever, there will be a lot to think about, but I’m looking forward to it!
