Kazuki's Barcelona Blog: Friday
Posted on Friday 08 May 2009 and tagged with kazuki, blog, barcelona.
A good opening day of practice for AT&T Williams, although we shouldn’t read too much into the lap times. The aerodynamic updates on my FW31 worked well and we were able to prepare for qualifying and the race by doing long and short runs. The car worked well on both the prime and the option tyre, so I’m hopeful that we can have a good weekend.
Of course it was nice for Nico and me to end the day in first and second places, but we don’t know what programmes the other teams were running so it doesn’t really mean anything. How I wish it was Saturday!
We tested at the Circuit de Catalunya at the beginning of March, when the temperatures were much cooler than they were today. The car felt quite different back then, but it’s hard to know how much of the change is due to the aero updates we’ve introduced and how much is down to the increased track temperature this weekend.
I just want to say a final word to my friends at Fuji TV, who haven’t flown to Barcelona this weekend due to the Swine Flu epidemic around the world. We’re missing you, guys!
