Everyone at AT&T Williams is saddened to hear of the death of Jim Douglas. He was a stalwart of the team’s machine shop for 28 years and will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences to Jim’s friends and family.
Sam Michael is knocking up the air miles this week. Tomorrow morning he flies from Shanghai to Tokyo, where he has a six-hour meeting with Rays Wheels; he then returns to Shanghai, before connecting on to the UK where he’ll get one day in the office at Grove. Finally, he’ll head to Bahrain on Thursday for the next race.
AT&T Williams’ race drivers have a more leisurely break planned prior to Bahrain. Kazuki Nakajima is heading to Dubai for three days of training, while Nico Rosberg is going straight to Bahrain. Let’s hope for better weather in the Gulf than in Shanghai!
Red Bull gives you wins. Congratulations to Red Bull Racing on winning their first Grand Prix today, and to their chief technical officer Adrian Newey in particular, who worked for Williams F1 until 1997. Where’s our invite to the post-race party, guys?!
