Kazuki's Chinese Blog: Friday

When we were last at the Shanghai International Circuit four months ago, I discovered that the track conditions improved a lot over the course of the weekend. That was definitely the case again today.
This morning my tyres behaved in an extraordinary way. They lacked consistency from one lap to the next and the super-soft tyre seemed to grain very quickly. The situation improved in the afternoon session, once more rubber had been laid on the racing line, and I ended the day seventh fastest. The balance of the car wasn’t too bad, but there’s still work to do before tomorrow’s qualifying session.
Away from the racetrack, I’ve been having quite a good time in downtown Shanghai. Last night I ate in a Hooters restaurant for the first time. Now, I know what you’re thinking and it wasn’t like that. Until I sat down at the table and one of the waitresses approached, I had no idea what Hooters were famous for! As you can imagine, I had a good time – and the food wasn’t bad either.
Now, though, it’s time to focus on the serious business of the weekend. I like this circuit and drove a good race here last year en route to 12th place. Let’s see what I can do.
