Jerez Test: Day Three
Posted on Tuesday 17 Mar 2009 and tagged with jerez, testing.
Nico Rosberg continued final preparations for the first race of the season today. At Spain's 4.423km Jerez circuit, Nico worked through a full programme of aero evaluations, tyre testing, reliability checks and set-up tuning. Today marked Nico's final day in the car before he takes to the track in Melbourne. Towards the end of the session, Nico suffered an incident but was fortunately unhurt.
At the end of the third day in Spain, Nico recorded the second quickest time of the session with a 1:18.071 and covered 66 laps. Kazuki will take over tomorrow for the remaining two days.
Sam Michael, Technical Director, Williams F1:
“Today, we worked on our race starts process and mechanical set-ups with Nico. We then moved onto long runs in order to evaluate different aero parts. Unfortunately, Nico had an off this afternoon so preparations to turn the car around for Kazuki’s arrival tomorrow started slightly earlier than scheduled.”
