Kazuki's Brazilian Blog: Saturday
Posted on Saturday 01 Nov 2008 and tagged with kazuki, brazil, blog.
That was the first time since the Malaysian Grand Prix at the start of the year that Nico and I have both been knocked out of qualifying in Q1. We’re starting tomorrow’s Brazilian Grand Prix in 16th and 18th positions, and what’s particularly disappointing is that the FW30 was quite competitive in this morning’s final practice session, when we were 11th (Nico) and 15th.
The track conditions were much hotter this afternoon and we struggled for grip on the option tyre. I feel that I drove well and made no mistakes, but the car just wasn’t there and I think I’m going to have a tough race tomorrow as a result.
Away from the race track, it’s been a quiet weekend so far. I had an early dinner this evening in the Transamerica Hotel and the only other people in the restaurant were Bernie Ecclestone and his daughter Tamara. I was interested to see that Bernie ate fish, just like me; he’s obviously a man of good taste!
Fingers crossed that we can have a better race tomorrow because it would be great to end the season on a high note.
