iWitness in Brazil: Thursday
30 October 08
Sam Michael is a late addition to the AT&T Williams squad in Brazil. Our Technical Director hadn’t planned to come to Interlagos and when Patrick Head asked him to make the trip earlier this week there wasn’t enough time to get him a visa… Until, that is, Frank Williams telephoned the Brazilian embassy in London. Sam is due to land in Sao Paulo tomorrow morning.
Nico Rosberg appeared at breakfast this morning wearing a black trilby. Strange behaviour, you might think. “I’m having a bad hair day,” he said while pouring himself some Cornflakes. “I didn’t really have a choice!”
The race team had a great night at the Fogo de Chao churrascaria on Tuesday, until Team Manager Tim Newton came to pay the bill. Rumour has it that he’d miscalculated the exchange rate when he ordered the wine…We hope everyone enjoyed an extremely fine drop!
All the drivers gathered in the pitlane this afternoon to bid David Coulthard farewell. There was a lot of jostling for position at the photo opportunity and, in the end, the retiring racing driver ended up standing next to Nico Rosberg. It’s not what you know, DC, it’s who you know.
