Kazuki's Japanese Blog: Thursday
09 October 08
I’ve had a busy build-up to my home Grand Prix and I’ve enjoyed every moment. Last weekend I was at Toyota’s Megaweb in Tokyo and I’ve done a series of events since then: on Monday I was with Accenture; on Tuesday it was RBS and on Wednesday Lenovo. I got a great reception at each event, so thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome.
The question that I’ve been asked most frequently this week concerns me re-signing with AT&T Williams for 2009. The deal was made official last week and of course it’s great news for me. Thank you, Frank, for showing such confidence in me. I’ve learnt a lot this year and already relish the chance to build on that next year when I return to circuits for a second time.
One track that I know well, however, is Fuji Speedway. I did a lot of racing there in the junior formulas and even lived in nearby Gotemba when I was racing in Japanese Formula 3. Fuji is a fun track to drive and I think it will suit the FW30 more than Spa and Monza, which were the last permanent racetracks that we raced on last month.
We’ll get a clearer picture of the formbook when the on-track business starts tomorrow. I think the weather will be okay, so I hope to see a lot of fans in the grandstands!
