Kazuki's Singapore Blog: Saturday

I was really pleased to get into Q3 for the first time today. I’ve been close before – less than 0.1s shy of P10 in Valencia – and it was great to finally make it. I owe a big thank you to the team because they gave me a great car and I hope that I can get a good result in tomorrow’s race as a result. The more I drive on the Marina Bay Circuit, the more I like it. It’s got lots of interesting sections and, being such a long lap, it’s very intense. In fact, I think this race could be the most exhausting of the year because we get no rest in the cockpit and it’s really hot and humid. For some reason, it feels hotter here than at Sepang, which is just 300kms to the north. If you combine all that with the extra concentration needed to drive at night, I think it’s going to be very tough.
I haven’t finished in the points since Silverstone, where I came home eighth. I can think of no better way to thank my engineers for giving me such a great car this weekend than to add to that tally in F1’s first ever night race.
