Kazuki's Monza Blog: Saturday

The conditions were really tough during qualifying today. Not only did you have to drive a perfect lap to get a good grid position, you had to get your strategy right as well. That meant avoiding traffic and timing your runs to when the track conditions were at their best.Unfortunately, I really struggled with traffic and couldn’t find a clean lap during Q1. Everyone was on the track at the same time, which made the visibility very bad and I was very disappointed to end the session in 18th place. It will make my race tomorrow very difficult, but I’ll do my best.
Away from the racetrack, it’s been a busy day of PR functions. The team has a lot of guests at this race, which means I’ve had to do several trips to the Paddock Club and the merchandising stalls and I ended the day with a dinner. Still, I guess it comes with the territory of being an F1 driver – and is good preparation for my home race in Japan!

14th for Nico, DNF for Rubens. Not the best day for the team, but we'll be back fighting in Monza! Well done Lewis, Mark and Robert!
