iWitness in Monza: Saturday
13 September 08
The AT&T Williams marketing team are having to vet the drivers’ autograph cards closely this weekend. Nico and Kazuki have taken to drawing on each other’s photographs “just for fun”, with the result that Nico has grown horns in some of his pictures and Kazuki angel wings. Nice touch!
This being the last European race of the season, Nico decided to take all of his mechanics out to dinner this evening. They went to El Cordobes, close to the Autodromo di Monza, and by all accounts had a raucous evening. Should Nico get a good result in tomorrow’s race, no doubt they’ll be back there again!
The evening wasn’t all fun and games for everyone, however. Our PR guru Silvia Hoffer was seen berating our communications manager Liam Clogger after Liam had reversed into her car en route back to the hotel. It wouldn’t have mattered had Silvia not been driving her own set of wheels…
The crash capped a bad day for Silvia, whose morning had begun with a tetchy email from American Express. The credit card firm demanded a fee of 25 euros from her for a transaction, which she refused to pay. Makes us think it must have been an even worse day for the person at the end of the telephone!
