Kazuki's Monza Blog: Friday

You had to be at Monza to believe the weather conditions this morning. The first practice session started off damp and I even tried a lap on dry tyres before the darkest clouds you’ve ever seen moved in over the track. Then, with about half an hour to go, the heavens opened. You had to forget about trying to get in some wet weather running because the track became waterlogged within seconds. For the guys in the AT&T Williams garage it was a question of trying to stay dry rather than worrying about car set-up. The drain outside our pit started to overflow and we had to have two people constantly brushing the excess water out of the garage to stop everything getting soaked.
Yet in a bizarre meteorological twist, the sun came out at lunchtime and the weather was tropical for the second session. We were able to get in a lot of good dry running and I was happy with the progress we made with the car. But the forecast for tomorrow is dodgy once again, so I’ll try to remember my umbrella tomorrow morning…

14th for Nico, DNF for Rubens. Not the best day for the team, but we'll be back fighting in Monza! Well done Lewis, Mark and Robert!
