Kazuki's German Blog: Thursday

The second half of the season starts here, at the German Grand Prix. It’s hard to believe that we’re already closer to the end of the year than the start, but this is a fast business in every sense. I know Hockenheim quite well from Formula 3, but I only got my first experience of the track in an F1 car at last week’s test. It’s definitely a lap of two halves: the new, wide straights that form part of Hermann Tilke’s 2002 re-design and the old, twisty Motodrom. The FW30 seems quite competitive here, so let’s hope we can have a good weekend.Aside from last week’s test session, I’ve had a quiet time since the last race. I’ve done a lot of training, I’ve used the simulator at the AT&T Williams factory in Grove and I’ve done one day of PR with Fuji TV, which involved showing them around Oxford, where I live in the UK. I think they enjoyed themselves, but it was a learning experience for me too because we looked around many of the famous colleges of Oxford University (Magdalen, Christ Church) and they are very beautiful. Now, though, it’s time to focus on Hockenheim – the track, not the architecture!

14th for Nico, DNF for Rubens. Not the best day for the team, but we'll be back fighting in Monza! Well done Lewis, Mark and Robert!
