Oris was proud to sponsor the very first Moscow City Racing event which took place in Russia’s capital on Sunday. Following a long association with motorsport, Oris was one of the main sponsors for the first demonstration of Formula One on Russian soil.
Thousands of Muscovites lined the streets to see racing teams from Russia whizz past the Kremlin and to catch a glimpse of the star attraction – Oris ambassador Nico Rosberg in the Williams-Toyota FW29 from the 2007 Formula One season.
An enthusiastic Nico commented: “What a city! Driving around the Kremlin and through Red Square was just awesome. The attention we received from the spectators was just incredible, massive! People really are fascinated by Formula One here.”
Before his demonstration, Nico was presented with the Oris TT3 Formula Gold Limited Edition – a watch in rose gold specfically designed to celebrate 30 years of Williams F1 and strictly limited to just 300 pieces.
Roland Ackermann, Region Manager for Oris in Russia, commented: “This is a landmark for Formula One and also for Oris. We are honoured to be involved in the first Formula One demonstration in Russia and we wanted to present Nico with a reminder of the event here. The TT3 Formula Gold seemed appropriate because it captures the spirit of Formula One just as Nico and the AT&T Williams team have captured the imaginations of so many Muscovites today.”
