Kazuki's Canada Blog: Sunday

For 14 laps I ran in a podium position in the Canadian Grand Prix. First third, and then second for four laps. Of course it was disappointing not to finish, but this race marked the first time that I’ve run so far up in a Grand Prix and it was good experience.
I felt comfortable all weekend at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and I think that was reflected in my race performance. I made a great start and overtook two cars into Turn 1 – including Alonso – and showed a consistent pace throughout the race.
In the end, I misjudged my braking into the hairpin on lap 47 and dislodged my front wing on the back of Button’s car. As I came into the pits, the front wing got stuck under my front wheels, which left me with no steering, and I crashed into the pitwall. A bit embarrassing, I know, but there was nothing I could do about it.
I’m leaving the testing duties in Barcelona this week to the two Nicos, so I’ll take a break before the French Grand Prix, do lots of training and come back stronger than ever. See you then!
