Kazuki's Monaco Blog: Saturday

Finding the limit through these streets is a huge challenge. It’s a bigger ask than at a normal circuit because you know that you can’t afford to overstep the mark: even the smallest mistake will end up with you in the armco.
As a result, Monaco rewards the brave. The drivers who risk the most get the best lap time, and to take it that close to the limit requires a lot of confidence. Nico [Rosberg] did a great job today in qualifying and I was able to find more confidence – and time – with every lap.
The rain shower during this morning’s final practice session washed away the rubber from earlier in the weekend, which meant the track felt quite green at the start of qualifying. I made a few mistakes early on, but managed to put a lap together in Q2 to start the race in 13th place.
I kind of hope for rain tomorrow because it will mix it up a bit. To finish in the points, I’ll need something to stir it up ahead of me because it’s hard to overtake around here. Please join me in doing a rain dance this evening!
