The Paddock Club is usually a place of quiet restraint, where F1’s moneymen chomp quietly through their prawn sandwiches. That wasn’t the case this morning, however, when Nico Rosberg bumped into Felipe Massa on the stairs. Felipe reckoned Nico had held him up during qualifying and he started berating Nico in Italian. Keep your hair on!

The Bahrain International Circuit might be located in the desert, but the grid was far from deserted. It teamed with celebrities such as George Lucas, Frankie Dettori, Eric Clapton, Macy Grey, Akon (Lewis Hamilton’s favourite rap star), and even Lord March from Goodwood.

Ever wondered at what point during a Grand Prix Bernie Ecclestone heads to his private jet? Let me tell you: he left the Bahrain paddock at exactly the one-hour mark, just when it became apparent that Felipe Massa was going to win the race. Back home in time for tea, eh?
