The Stewards of the Meeting at the European Grand Prix today imposed a five second time penalty to Rubens Barrichello’s final race classification, along with eight other competitors, for a breach of the rules relating to the deployment of the Safety Car.

However, the penalty did not alter Ruben’s final classification in fourth place and the award of 12 driver’s and constructor’s points.

The AT&T Williams team’s competitive form during this weekend’s European Grand Prix at Valencia concluded with Rubens Barrichello crossing the line in fourth place in this afternoon’s race. While running in a points-paying tenth position, Nico Hulkenberg’s FW32 suffered an exhaust failure which put him out of the race on lap 50.

Rubens Barrichello:
It was great fun out there today and the car was behaving well throughout the race. We really seem to be heading in the right direction with the development of the car and I hope that this improved performance continues for the rest of the season.

Nico Hulkenberg:
It was going really well and points were definitely possible today. I was running in tenth before the safety car came out. It wasn’t good timing for me because I had called in a flat spot on my tyre half a lap earlier and wanted to pit but by then it was too late. Combined with having to stack, I really lost all my places there. When the safety car came in I couldn’t keep Alonso behind me, but after that it was quite a processional race up until something caught fire on my car. That obviously ended it for me.

Sam Michael, Technical Director:
That was a good performance today by both cars, and definitely a step forward. Unfortunately, an exhaust failure cost Nico a possible point today and we will be investigating the cause back at the factory. The team is now looking forward to its home race at Silverstone and consolidating the step in performance we’ve made with further upgrades for the FW32.

Further news will be posted once the result of the stewards' investigation has been released.

GREAT JOB TEAM! IMPROVED CAR A LOT!
GREAT JOB RUBENS!

That´s why we like this sport.
Nice had some bad lucky but he did a good race.

YAHOO!

What a way to go Ruebens and Williams F1. 4th is a fantastic result for the team. A real shame fo the Hulk!!

Roll on Silverstone, lets see whats upgrades the team brings.

Small error with the results...Would be nice and fair if we all could have finished first, but it's just not motor racing, is it?

Speaking of Motor Racing, we had a great one today. Everyone of you should feel great to finally make the finish line in such a great position. I don't care what the Stewards say, you finished 4th across the line, so that should surely be the end of it, regardless if you accidently exceed the Safety car lap time limit by a couple of tenths of a second. It's not your fault anyway, as they sent it out quite late.

We all share the frustrations of The Hulk, who was doing brilliant considering he didn't have Rubens' upgrades.

Good news so far, apparently no penalty for The Hulk, Vitaly Petrov, Sebastian Buemi or Vitantonio Luizzi. Hopefully the same applies to Rubens...

Yay!

...And we only get a 5 second Penalty! Phew! :) Could've had problems with Kobyashi if the ruling was less lenient...

But with good forwards momentum, Role on the Goodwood Festival of Speed and then the British Grand Prix... Life is good again! :)

A really good show by the team , WELL DONE
can we improve at silvestone lets hope so .

good thing the penalty was only 5 seconds... no change in RB's result. happy happy... great finish for rubens!!! looking forward to silverstone

Great job by the team, let's hope this is a start of better times for Williams.

Well done, Rubens !

Finally, some success. I believe the future is bright.

However, now we need to have the points confirmed.

Fingers crossed, we will keep that fourth place. After so much bad luck, the team and the fans deserve some fortune.

Good luck to all of us.

Very Good

Go Rubens, Go Wiilliams. That is the way.
Silverstone Will be better.
Our best wishes from México.

GREAT RACE FOR ALL OF US !
We will come to the top !

Williams rules!

Overtake Nico at the right turn from the outside and PIT at the right moment was the key.

Fantastic Rubens!! Well done Williams Team!

I was laughing with Michael " Dick Dastardly " Schummacher... hehehehe

Where was the King of Strategy Ross Brawn? Do they don´t know the rules? Stayed stop at PIT exit watching every body running.. heheheheh , and Ross Brawn shaking him head like " Do you know about it ? , or What a hell ? " heheheheh

Let´s make Silverstone the second round of the Williams Rebirth!!

I will not say anything about the car today, but I saw some things at the turns...

So, it´s party time!!!!!!!!!

Keep Walking, Working and Running

Ayrton Senna da Silva was knew by " SilvaStone " because him performances at Silverstone.

And we will se in 2 weeks another RUBENSTONE.

Best regards to all fans.

Fantastic race for Rubens and the Team!!! That is the real progress. I'm so happy!!! Come on gys!!! Yeaaaah!

yeah Rubens!!! keep going on this way!!! well done Williams! this is it; I said before that the Williams car is ok, the problem is with Cosworth engine; in this GP they were at a high standard despite those 20 seconds between Renault Red Bull and Cosworth; is the best performance until now this season; I want for Cosworth to be for F1 not F1 for cosworth ( I know that they want to collaborate with Subaru Impreza STI and Range Rover using their image which is much improved by their participation in F1)

Great! Hope this improvement line continues.

Congrats to all the team!

Regards.
