Jerez Day Four
Posted on Monday 22 Feb 2010
Nico Hulkenberg continued preparation work of the FW32 today in Jerez for the final day of this week's four day test.
During a predominantly dry day in which rain threatened but never fully materialised, the team finished their schedule of set-up work for the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Towards the end of the session, Nico's car suffered a gearbox issue. On a high mileage part, the problem was no cause for concern.
Nico's quickest time of 1:21.919 placed him in 9th position on the timings board at the day's end with another impressive lap haulage having covered 606 kms of the 4.428 Spanish track.
Sam Michael, Technical Director:
That was another high mileage day for Nico. We worked on set-ups throughout and found some really interesting suspension settings to optimise the tyre. At this point, the field looks really close, but the race pace order is starting to become clear. We stopped near the end of the day with a known high mileage gearbox issue. I should say that I'm really impressed with our engine partner Cosworth, in particular the work they've put into reliability.
