Kazuki's Abu Dhabi Blog: Saturday
Posted on Sunday 01 Nov 2009 and tagged with kazuki-nakajima, blog.
Today was a difficult day. I was desperate to get a good qualifying position for the team and for myself, but it didn’t happen. Yas Marina is a very technical racetrack, on which you have to be very precise, and I made a mistake on my best run in Q2, which caused me to run wide at Turn 14. That put dirt on my tyres and it was then game over as far as making it into Q3 was concerned. As a result, I’ll start from 14th tomorrow, on the dirty side of the grid. That will make it hard to find traction away from the line, but I’m going to have a lot of fuel on board so I hope to work my way forward and finish in the points. Given the improvement that I have shown in my driving this year – my consistency is much better than in ’08 – it would be very tough not to score a point this year. I’ll be giving it my best shot!
By the way: why’s Nico so excited about the Kings of Leon? They’re playing tonight near the circuit and he’s going on about it all day. Should I be going too?
