Kazuki's Abu Dhabi Blog: Thursday

What an amazing place. I’d heard a lot of positive things about the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, and they’re all true! The facilities are fantastic – unlike anywhere else in F1 – and it’s a real privilege to be here.
I walked the track this afternoon and was impressed with its layout. It has a lot of slow-speed corners at the end of the lap, but there are some challenging faster sections as well and the camber changes will make it an interesting technical challenge. The barriers are also quite close, so mistakes are likely to be punished with bent bodywork. I’ll reserve my final judgement until after I’ve driven the track tomorrow, but it looks promising.
With this race being the last of the season, it has a bit of an end-of-term feel to it. Both world championships are already sewn up and there are rock concerts taking place every night, all of which are free for members of the F1 community. Unfortunately, I’ll be too busy to attend the concerts – I’ve never been a big fan of Beyonce anyway! – and I don’t want to be too late to bed as I’m really motivated to end my season on a high. I want to score my first points of the year on Sunday and help the team secure sixth place in the championship.
