It didn’t take long for members of AT&T Williams to get into the swing of life in Brazil. Within hours of landing in Sao Paulo yesterday, the team piled into the upmarket Barbacoa churrascaria, where everyone gorged on beef and caipirinhas. Kazuki Nakajima was there (no booze, surely?), but Nico Rosberg elected for an early night to get over a cold.

The team doesn’t appear to need an excuse for a party, but the trip to Barbacoa coincided with Race Team Coordinator Paul Singlehurst’s 44th birthday. Many happy returns, Paul – we’ll drink to that!

Jenson Button indulged the British press this evening by taking them to the Fogo de Chao churrascaria. A great time was had by all, but Jenson had the last laugh because he turned up wearing the same clothes as his physio Mikey “Muscles” Collier, and it was Mikey whose autograph the Brazilian diners wanted…

While living the high life in the southern hemisphere, the F1 circus has to keep its wits about it because crime is never far away. David Warren, Allsport Management’s commercial director, was robbed while being driven from Sao Paulo airport into the city. His driver pulled over to mend a puncture, when a group of thieves pounced and stole his luggage.
