iWitness in Spa: Sunday

Finishing 0.7s behind Rubens Barrichello, whose engine was smoking badly for the last three laps of the race, you might have expected Nico to complain about oil on his helmet visor. Not so: he was blinded by flies. “One had gone splat right in my line of vision,” he said. “I couldn’t see a thing.”There’s a two-week break before the Italian Grand Prix, but all three AT&T Williams drivers have work to do before then. They will meet at Silverstone on Wednesday for a sponsors’ day, and Nico Rosberg will then head to Berlin to spend Thursday with Philips. No rest for the wicked, eh?
Giancarlo Fisichella might have scored a remarkable second place for Force India in the Belgian Grand Prix, but it wasn’t a champagne moment according to team principal Vijay Mallya. “Kingfisher all round,” ordered the drinks magnate.
Luca Badoer finished last in today’s race, 1m38s behind Ferrari team-mate and race winner Kimi Raikkonen. He’s already talking up his chances in the Italian Grand Prix, despite rumours that he will be replaced by Giancarlo Fisichella at the Scuderia. “I now feel like I’ve always been racing in F1,” said Badoer. “I have a good feeling for the car and I think Monza will be a good result.” For you, Luca, or Fisi?
