Nigel Mansell was in the AT&T Williams motorhome this afternoon. The 1992 World Champion, who drove for the team for six years between 1985 and 1992, seemed very happy to see his old pals again. “It’s great to be with you all again,” he said. “I’d like to see my son Greg in one of your cars soon!” You hear that, Frank?
The RAF catering corps were guests of the team as well today. If our guys in the kitchen ever feel that they have it tough in the F1 paddock, they should listen to some of the RAF corps’ stories: they feed up to 3,500 people every day in such harsh conditions as Afghanistan and the Arctic Circle. Monaco’s not so bad, eh guys?
Ginny Williams (Frank’s wife) was introduced to Jake Humphrey this afternoon. She’s always been a big fan of the BBC front man, but it turns out that the feeling’s mutual. “If ever Eddie Jordan has to miss another race, as he did in China,” said Jake, “I’m going to push for Ginny to replace him.” Lots of pro-AT&T Williams material please Lady Williams!
