Nico's Silverstone Blog: Saturday

To have both of our cars in the top 10 proved how much progress we’ve made in recent weeks. The two teams that have made the most progress since the last race in Turkey are clearly us and Red Bull Racing, and I’m hopeful that AT&T Williams can get both cars into the points.
As for my own qualifying session, I’m a bit disappointed with how it went because I didn’t get the best out of the car in Q3. The track rubbered-in as the session progressed, but I didn’t get the maximum from it when it mattered at the end of Q3. The balance of my FW31 wasn’t quite to my liking and Kazuki did the better job. I’ll do my best to catch him in tomorrow’s race.
Now, though, I’m heading back to my motorhome in the BRDC car park. I’ve got a couple of mates staying in it with me this weekend – yes, really! – and we’re going to have a barbecue tonight. Lots of sausages and beef burgers; let’s hope the weather stays good!
