The British Grand Prix is AT&T Williams’ home race, and it’s starting to feel like mine as well because I’ve been staying in the BRDC car park since last weekend! I flew to London on Saturday for a friend’s birthday party and then came up to Silverstone, where I have been staying in my motorhome ever since.

It’s great to be here, though, and I’ve enjoyed watching Silverstone prepare for its last British Grand Prix. The whole place has been a hive of activity, with lawn mowers going 10 to the dozen and marquees being erected everywhere. It’s quite an organisational feat, I must say. And that’s to say nothing of the work being done by the teams in the F1 paddock.

I’ve commuted from Silverstone to the Williams factory every day this week as well, which I’ve enjoyed. Living in Monaco as I do, I don’t get to visit Grove as much as I would like and I’ve tried to make up for that this week. The amount of work going on there is amazing and I have to thank everyone very much for their hard work. We have new bits on the FW31 at every race at the moment, including at Silverstone this weekend, and that makes me think we’re out-developing the opposition.

The car has been good through fast corners this season, so I’m feeling pretty confident going into this weekend. After a good race in Turkey last time out, the aim is to finish in the points once again at Silverstone.
